Leandro Marziotte

Leandro Marziotte won the first prize at the International Händel Competition 2014 in Göttingen as countertenor soloist with the ensemble Radio Antiqua. Leandro has been also finalist at the first International Countertenor competition in Lugano in 2011.

He has a Master in baroque singing from the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague and a Bachelor Diploma from the Strasbourg Conservatoire. He studied with Michael Chance, Peter Kooij, Jill Feldman, Rita Dams, Françoise Kubler, Martin Gester and Michèle Ledroit.

Leandro performs regularly as a soloist with groups such as: ’Cappella Mediterranea’ (Leonardo García Alarcon), ‘Le Poème Harmonique‘ (Vincent Dumestre), ‘Ricercar Consort’ (Philippe Pierlot), ‘Ensemble Elyma’ (Gabriel Garrido), ‘Scherzi Musicali‘ (Nicolas Achten) ‘Le Concert Étranger‘ (Itay Jedlin), ‘Stuttgarter Barockorchester’ (Jörg Halubek) and the ‘Ensemble Caprice‘ (Matthias Maute) from Canada.

He participates in different opera productions as ’Orfeo ed Euridice’ (Orfeo) from Gluck; ‘Serse’ (Arsamene), ‘Orlando’ (Orlando), ‘Agrippina’ (Ottone), ‘Jephtha’ (Hamor), ’Deborah’ (Barak), ‘Rodrigo’ (Fernando) from Händel; ‘Dido and Aeneas’ (Sorceress) from Purcell; ‘Orfeo’ (Pastore and Speranza) from Monteverdi and ’A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ (Oberon) from Britten.

He recorded Bach Cantatas for Harmonia Mundi with the ensemble ‘Musicus Köln’ conducted by Christoph Spering. He made the world premiere recording, singing the main role of the opera ‘Flavio Crispo’ from Heinichen with the Baroque Orchestra of Stuttgart. For Arcana Label, he recorded a solo CD in Italy with unpublished Baroque Neapolitan cantatas. We can also hear him in many important recordings, such as in Händel’s opera ‘Rodrigo’ conducted by Laurence Cummings.

He sings in several theaters such as Teatro Colon from Buenos Aires, Teatro Municipal of Rio de Janeiro, Teatro Solis of Montevideo, Teatro Simon Bolivar of Mexico City, Teatro Mario Laserna of Bogotá, Maison Symphonique of Montréal, Maison de la Radio of Paris, Chapelle Royale of Versailles, Victoria Hall of Geneva, Concertgebouw of Bruges, Bozar of Bruxelles, De Doelen Rotterdam, Kölner Philharmonie, Palais des Congrès of Krakow and at the opera houses of Tours, Dijon, Liège, Magdeburg, Oldenburg, Halle and Göttingen, among others.
